Tommy King Obituary

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one, Tommy Lee King, on Thursday, May 2, 2024, at his residence in Bogata, Texas. Tommy was born June 29, 1959, in Clarksville, Texas.

Everyone who knew him, or had the pleasure of meeting him, would tell you that he was one of a kind! He was a man of his word, was a true friend, and a very loving man. Tommy had an air about him that had most of the women he met through his work, or just out and about in places, think he was flirting, but that was just Tommy. It was his smile. His wife Lisa was never the jealous type because she knew where his heart lay.  He and Lisa met in 2010 when she moved across the street from him; he told her later that he knew one day he “was going to marry that woman.” So, she let him pick the day; he chose April 1st, 2014!

He was a hard worker and loyal employee of Blake Plumbing for over 20 years and cared about all his co-workers.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Bettye Jane King; father, Charles Abner King; and brothers, Charles Wayne King and Rodger Dale “Spydr” King.

He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Lisa King; son, O.W. King, wife Tara, and children, Zakkry and Zoe; three stepsons, Brandon, Allen, and Larry Johnson; brothers, Michael King of Bogata, Texas, J.D. “Jimi” King and wife JoAnne of Pittsburg, Texas, Patrick King and wife Carman of Leakesville, Mississippi; sister, Doris Cooper and husband Andy Cooper, of Bogata, Texas; nephews, Wesley Draper, Kirk King and wife Mandy, and daughters, Leyton, Cammie, and Annalee of Post Oak, Texas; granddaughter, Jerrika Johnson of Bogata, Texas; uncle, Virgil “Ed” Hudson and wife Mary of Bonham, Texas; and cousins, Mark and Kyle.

A family led memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 14, 2024, at the pavilion in the Bogata Cemetery.
