It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Tommy Joe Williams, aged 82, of Bogata, Texas, who departed this life on February 26, 2025. Tommy was born on March 30, 1942, in Texas, and lived a life devoted to hard work and dedication.
Tommy was a proud heavy equipment operator in the coal mining industry, where he spent many years employed by TXU. He was known for his unwavering work ethic, integrity, and strong sense of responsibility to his family. Tommy exemplified the value of persistence and the importance of providing for those he loved.
He is survived by his cherished wife, Linda Williams, and his devoted daughter, Kathie Thompson, along with her loving husband, Bobby Thompson, step children, Kim Holder and her husband Larry, and Michael Barnett and his wife Gwen; grandchildren, Jessica Thompson-Shaffer and her husband Josh, Jordan Thompson, Taylor Holder, Christopher Barnett, Noah Barnett, Jillian Barnett, Rylan Barnett; sister in law, Pam Williams; cousins, Sarah Long Charlotte Crow, Denise Roberts, Dora Williams, Dana Williams, Duree Williams, Stacy Dodd, Sabrina Fuchs, Anna Kay Moore and Doug Clark. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jason Williams, brothers, Jim, Ed, and David Williams and his sisters, Joyce Dodd and Goldie Williams Above all, Tommy treasured the time spent with his family, nurturing relationships that were grounded in love and respect.
Tommy’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched, and he will be remembered as a man who embraced life's challenges with a steadfast determination and a warm smile.
Memorial services will be held in honor of Tommy’s life, Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the Wood-Haggard Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends are welcomed to gather in remembrance of the incredible man he was.
