Top Elrod

Mr William M (Top) Elrod, age 76 of the Lone Star Community died Saturday in Dubuis Hospital of Paris. Funeral services will be 10 am Tuesday March 6 in First Assembly of God Church in Bogata with Rev Don Shovan officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery under direction of Wood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Monday at the funeral home. Mr Elrod was born April 15,1935 in Detroit,Texas the son of William Daniel and Martha Nichols Elrod. He married the former Ethel LeMonds Feb 5,1955 in Clarksville. He worked as a logger, a ginner, a welder and hay bailer. He is survived by his wife, Ethel Elrod of Lone Star two sons W.H. Elrod and Arley Elrod both of Long Star, three daughers Beth Suel and Kay Gonzales both of Bogata and Sabrina Powell of Lone Star, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two sisters Mary Crawford and Mildred Witworh both of Bogata. He was preceded in death by a great grandson.
