Mr. Truman E. Baird, age 88 of Cuthand died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Clarksville Nursing Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday at Cuthand Methodist Church with Rev. John Purviance officiating. Interment will be at Cuthand Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends Monday 10-10:30 am at the church. Mr. Baird's grandchildren will be active pallbearers, Rhonda Branch Modesitt, Scott Branch, Brad Branch, Eric Aldridge, Lillian Baird, Cortney Cooper Craft, Cameron Cooper, Caleb Winn, Kate Winn and Joseph Truman Winn. Mr. Baird was born January 4, 1924 in Rosalie the son of Walter and Susie Williams Baird. He married Elaine Harville on August 23, 1947 in Kermit, Texas. He was a farmer, rancher and worked in the oil field. Mr. Baird was a veteran of WWII of the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Elaine Baird of Cuthand ;a son, Rick Baird and wife, Ferby of Cuthand; four daughters, Barbara Branch and husband, Jim of Bogata; Karen Cooper and husband, Gary of Tyler; Brendia Garrido and husband, Jason of Tyler and Laura Winn and husband, Keith of Athens; three sisters, Ruby Daffern of Lewisville; Betty New and husband, Roy of Weatherford and Helen Savage of Weatherford; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the following organizations: Cuthand 4-H, Cuthand Cemetery, Cuthand Methodist Church Building Fund or Cuthand VFD c/o Connie Kay Brooks 12378 FM 909 Bogata,Tx 75417.
