Mrs. Virginia Farris, 73 of Deport, died on June 26, 2018 in Legends Healthcare and Rehab. Funeral Services have been scheduled for Thursday, June 28 at 7:00pm in Faith Baptist Church of Deport with Dr. LC Stout officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 6-7pm. Burial will be made in Highland Cemetery. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Shane O'Neal, Lonnie Elrod, Clifton Bazhaw, Phillip Strickland, Jason Pasquill, and Jeremy Pasquill.
She was born in Red River County on January 27, 1945, the daughter of Fred and Elva Lee Smith. She was a long-time beautician in Deport, an active member of Faith Baptist Church, and was known throughout the Deport area as a kind, caring and giving person.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Farris of Deport; her son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Kim Farris of Paris; her grandchildren, Tyler Young of Austin and Cameron Farris of Paris; her brother, Ronnie Smith of Paris; her sister, Eva Lois Nowlan of Waco; sister-in-law, Melba Elmore and husband, Jackie of Deport.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Laveda Farris; her parents, and these sisters and brothers: Joyce Harp; Karen Sotelo; Kenneth, Larry, Odell, Cecil, Denny, L.C., Jackie Steve, and Elmer Leon Smith.
