Warren D. Scott, age 90 of Quitman and formerly of Desoto,went to Heaven on October 2,2012 in The Hosptice of East Texas. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, October 6, at 2:30pm in Shady Grove Cemetery with Mr. Joe McCall speaking. He was born June 17, 1922 in Pattonville, the son of Barney and Eunice Gibson Scott. He was US Navy Veteran, serving as a "Seabee" in the South Pacific during World War II. He married the former Lavern Bybee in March of 1946. He and his wife were members of the Coal Springs Church of Christ Church in Lancaster. He was a retired Pipe Insulator and member of the Asbestos Workers Union Local 21 in Dallas. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Scott and his parents. He is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 66 years, Lavern of Quitman; his sons, Paul Scott, also of Quitman and Doug Scott and wife, Dean of Quinlan; his daughter and son-in-law, Linda Jackson and husband, Don of Grand Saline; sister, Mary Helen Holmes of Sequin, Texas; grandchildren: David Jackson and wife, Shawnya of Quitman; Paula Paulk and husband, Wayne of Alba; Tracy Scott of Oklahoma City, and Carley Upchurch and husband Casey of Pattonville; 2 great-grandchildren, Cody Paulk and Garrett Fletcher; nephew, Scott Holmes and wife, Charlotte of Sequin. He was a loving husband and father. He will be missed.
