It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Edward Mills, who left us peacefully on January 18, 2026, at the age of 90. Bill, as he was affectionately known, was born on September 4, 1935, in Campbell, Texas.
Bill proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War, enlisting on September 9, 1953, and continuing his service until August 31, 1961. After his time in the military, he settled in Commerce, Texas, where he was an automatic transmission mechanic. He was a minister of the gospel for over 50 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sallye Mills, and his two children, Cathi and Jerry Watkins and Wesley Mills, along with their families. Bill was survived by 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. . William was preceded in death by his parents, Rachel and Wesley Mills, 2 sisters and one brother.
Bill was laid to rest, January 20, 2026, at the McCrury Cemetery where he will find eternal peace.
Bill’s spirit will always remain in the hearts of those he touched, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
